Dramatic footage shows a plane battling strong crosswinds from Tropical Storm Irma as it attempts to land at Myrtle Beach International Airport.
The Alligient airline was buffeted by ferocious winds and drifting off course as it attempted to land on Monday.
The flight, travelling from Harrisburg, the state capital of Pennsylvania, was eventually diverted to Raleigh.
The video was recorded by Ed Piotrowski, chief meteorologist at ABC 15.
He wrote on Twitter: ‘Incredible video of a plane battling strong crosswinds at Myrtle Beach International Airport today They couldn't land!’
After he posted the video online, one commentator said: ‘That pilot deserves a medal for keeping those people safe!’
Another said: ‘Oh my God, that's insane I'm glad they got out of it.’
Christopher Nieman said: ‘Just the fact that this pilot and aircraft survived this wild approach is amazing.’
Kirk Lovell, spokesperson for the Horry County Department of Airports, confirmed the incident.
He added there were multiple delays and cancellations due to Irma throughout the day on Monday.
